What's the story?

The Monday Night Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle, posted on Twitter and Instagram after the WWE provided the Universe with some major breaking news that alters the card for this Sunday's WWE Tables Ladders & Chairs. Take a look at his social media posts below:

In case you didn't know...

Kurt Angle last wrestled in the WWE at an episode of ECW in August of 2006. The match ended in a no-contest against ECW legend Sabu. The rebooted ECW brand drafted Angle a couple of months before his last match in the WWE.

The heart of the matter

WWE.com reported on Friday afternoon that both Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt would not be able to compete at Tables Ladders & Chairs due to an illness that has ravaged the locker room over the past couple of weeks. It is unknown at the time of this writing if Reigns is battling the same viral meningitis that has kept Bo Dallas, Wyatt, and Jojo off of television.

For the first time in over 11 years, Kurt Angle will compete inside of a WWE ring alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. They will take on The Miz, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Kane in a 5-on-3 handicap match.

AJ Styles will take Wyatt's place and face Finn Balor on Sunday in a match that puts two former leaders of the famed Bullet Club faction together.

What's next?

Tables Ladders & Chairs 2017 is just about 48 hours away and will take place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These two major changes will highlight the show as well as the main roster debut of Asuka.

Author's take...

Major props to the WWE for coming up with a great backup plan amidst the illnesses that are plaguing the roster right now. There was some excitement for the pay per view before, but now with the addition of Angle's return and Styles v. Balor in a cross-branded match, we could be in for a very special night.
