What’s the story?

In a recent Q&A session on Facebook, Kurt Angle opened up on a myriad of topics.

Angle had words of high praise for Brock Lesnar. Besides, the Olympic gold-medalist weighed in with his predictions on the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, as well as his dream PPV.

In case you didn’t know…

Kurt Angle comes from a rich amateur wrestling background and is a former Olympic gold medalist.

Angle has wrestled the biggest names in professional wrestling, including ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Triple H, and Brock Lesnar to name a few.

The heart of the matter

Upon being probed as to which wrestler was the most natural for him to work with, Kurt Angle explained that he had the best chemistry with Brock Lesnar since they both come from amateur wrestling backgrounds. Angle added that Steve Austin was the most intense, whereas Triple H had impeccable psychology.

Additionally, while giving his prediction on the Men’s Elimination Chamber matchup, Angle elucidated that all participants are good enough for a title run. Angle continued that John Cena needs it the least, whereas Roman Reigns doesn’t necessarily have to win either as he’s already proven he’s the face of WWE.

Furthermore, Angle emphasized that Braun Strowman is unbeatable, whereas The Miz is the top heel and very established; owing to which neither one of them has the pressure to win the matchup. Angle continued—

“Finn would be a good surprise. Elias is off to a great start, but most likely not ready for the main event at WM...probably will be by next year. Seth could very well be the best on the roster—I'm a big fan of Seth—another long title run is coming soon for him. So I'd say Finn Balor could very well rise out of this with a much NEEDED shot at the Universal Championship—my opinion only!"

Angle also revealed what his dream PPV would look like; asserting that it’d comprise only of Ironman matches—be it the 205 Live matchups, Women’s bouts, Universal title, Intercontinental title, and so on and so forth—no gimmicks only wrestling. Angle added that it may get boring after 2-3 matches, however, if you really love wrestling, it’d be incredible.

What’s next?

John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Elias, Finn Balor and The Miz are set to compete in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match, which takes place at the Elimination Chamber PPV on February 25th.

Kurt Angle presently serves as the on-screen General Manager of the WWE’s RAW brand and is expected to wrestle at WrestleMania 34, against an opponent yet to be revealed.

Author’s take

Kurt Angle is spot-on with his assessment of the Elimination Chamber matchup.

Given the current landscape of the WWE and each participant’s momentum going into the match, Finn Balor is the one who most desperately needs to win, given that he’s been relegated to the mid-card as of late, and could do much better than that in the days to come.
