What's the story?
In a recent Facebook Q and A session, Kurt Angle gave his opinion on who he thinks should be the next female star to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Olympic Gold Medalist's pick was Mickie James, who will face Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women's Championship at TLC 2017.
In case you didn't know...
Kurt Angle is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. In late March, he returned to the company where he made his name and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by none other than John Cena.
On the Raw after WrestleMania 33, he was appointed Raw General Manager by Vince McMahon, and since then, his biggest storyline has been the one revealing him as Jason Jordan's father. Angle has also reiterated his desire to wrestle again on numerous occasions.
The heart of the matter
During the aforementioned Facebook Q & A session, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle answered questions about many different topics within the wrestling world. One thing that Kurt was asked about was who he thought should be the next female WWE Superstar to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Angle's first choice was Trish Stratus, but she has already been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The former Olympic Gold Medalist secondly said that his other choice for the Hall of Fame would be Mickie James, the current WWE veteran who will take on Alexa Bliss at TLC in a few weeks.
What's next?
Mickie James seems in no hurry to retire, in fact, her being Alexa Bliss' challenger at TLC appears to mean that WWE still have a lot of faith in James to perform at a top level in the Women's division. Although it is highly unlikely that Mickie will win the title, at least she is getting on TV at the moment in an important feud, as WWE have booked her horribly since her return.
However, when James does decide to retire, she will almost certainly end up in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Author's take
Kurt Angle definitely knows what he's talking about, because I think Mickie James has had a career that more than merits a WWE Hall of Fame Induction.
Just like Kurt, I hope Mickie still has a bit longer left in her career before deciding to hang up the boots and that WWE gives Mickie the booking her amazing accomplishments deserve before she retires.
