What’s the story?

Monday Night Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle recently sat down with Gary, Tim and Hamish on their podcast and discussed about Vince McMahon, as well as the Jason Jordan storyline.

In case you didn’t know…

On 29th May, 2017, on an episode of Raw, it was revealed that Angle had dated a woman back in his college days, with whom he had a son. Angle’s son turned out to be non-other than former American Alpha member Jason Jordan.

Jordan was first drafted to Smackdown Live back in 2016 with his tag team partner Chad Gable. The two men went on to have a formidable run as a team in the blue brand where they won the tag team titles by beating The Wyatt Family.

The team of Jordan and Gable was disbanded earlier this year when Jordan was drafted to Raw after being revealed as Kurt Angle’s illegitimate son.

The heart of the matter

During his chat with Gary, Tim and Hamish, Angle broke kayfabe and said that Jason Jordan is someone who he thinks has a lot of potential and that he will be a huge star down the road.

Angle also stated that Jordan still has a lot of room for improvement, but believes that the former NXT tag team champion will eventually get there.

I think he's going to be one of the more popular superstars down the road. He has a little bit of work to do, he's a little bit shy but as far his athleticism, and he’s one of the best we've got here

Angle also believes that this storyline will help Jordan in a lot of ways to build him for the future.

As far as working with Vince McMahon goes, the former WWE champion said that Vince is a “very good boss” and praised his work ethic.

What’s next?

Angle said that this storyline involving him and Jordan has not gotten too deep but says it will eventually happen down the line.

As of right now, Jordan is still trying to get over with the crowd and he surely has lost a lot of momentum since breaking up with Gable.

Author’s take

Personally, I’m not a fan of this storyline, but if utilised properly, it could turn out to be an interesting angle. But, Jason Jordan will need to start picking up some wins instead of losing to the likes of John Cena and Roman Reigns week after week.
