WWE News: Kurt Angle thought that Jason Jordan storyline was a prank on him

What's the story?

In an interview with The Wrestling Estate, Kurt Angle revealed that he thought that the Jason Jordan illegitimate son storyline was a prank on him.

In case you didn't know...

Around May or June, WWE began a storyline where Kurt Angle was receiving text messages from an unknown number, claiming that the information could "ruin his life". In retrospect, that was a bizarre approach because having a son isn't something that could possibly ruin his life.

The storyline was met with a rather lukewarm reaction and since then, Jason Jordan has been getting booed consistently by the crowd, seemingly taking the place of Roman Reigns for now.

The heart of the matter

Kurt Angle revealed that he found the idea of impregnating a black woman to be a rib on him. However, he did state that he wants the blow-off of the storyline to be in a full-fledged match.

I can’t believe I’m saying this. (laughs) You know this was a big prank that Vince had. I looked at him like you’re serious? When did I get her pregnant, in college? And she was black? The joke is on me but honestly, I’m not going to lie to you, I really hope that this storyline turns into a match with Jason.

He continued by saying that he thought Jason Jordan is one of the three best workers in the company. This is quite a feat of praise by The Olympic Gold Medalist, putting him nearly on the same level as AJ Styles.

A match between Jordan and Angle would make for an amazing story given the right circumstances. Jordan as a corporate heel using the nepotism angle would give him some great heat and if he were able to retire Kurt Angle at WrestleMania, that would make him a major player in the company for a long time to come.

What's next?

Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle are going to have an interesting few months ahead, with both seemingly heading into a feud with Triple H. Whether Jordan goes over Triple H or not is highly doubtful, but Kurt vs Triple H seems to be a WrestleMania storyline ready to happen.

Author's take

Jason Jordan is a tremendous talent, and hopefully, this entire Kurt Angle storyline is a way to strap the proverbial rocket on his back and push him to the moon. They've been going steady with his push but the best option for WrestleMania would be a retirement match between him and Kurt Angle, with Jordan going over.

Jordan being the one to retire Kurt Angle would make him the most hated heel in the company and thus a major star.
