The tide does not seem to be in favor of the Angle family. Kurt angle, the 47-year-old professional wrestler, and an Olympic gold medallist is grief-stricken as his brother David Angle(63) has been sentenced to prison for homicide. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on that David has been sentenced to prison for 21/2 to 10 years by Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Donna Jo McDaniel in the death of Donna Angle, wife of David Angle.
On September 20th 2015 the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Donna Angle, 57, had been killed by her husband David Angle at their home in Dormont. According to Allegheny County police, Dormont police and paramedics responded at 6:24 am to the report of a domestic disturbance and a woman not breathing. Donna Angle was found unresponsive on the floor of the living room .
When questioned, David, described the situation as a heated dispute which led him to kneel on his wife's chest and pull her arms. At 7:13 am in St. Clair Hospital, she was pronounced dead due to asphyxiation.
As reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, an interview was conducted by police with David Angle in 2015 and county homicide detective Scott Towne was in charge of the criminal complaint. The detective wrote in the report that David and his wife were in the living room at 3 a.m when the scuffle started. She offered him some vodka which he declined but she continued to “badger him about drinking with her” which escalated the situation.
The complaint continues by quoting David Angle, “He said all of their arguments revolved around alcohol and added that he has ‘anger issues’ as the scuffle continued, Donna tried to kick her husband and he “grabbed both of her arms, pulled her off the couch, put his foot on her chest and then pulled”. David told the police that he doesn't remember for how long it was for but “it wasn't for minutes”.
Past reports also show that David Angle was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was asked to go through the county's accelerated rehabilitative disposition program. The couple, in the past, has had one reported incident. In 2001, David Angle filed a protection-from-abuse order against his wife, resulting in her being excluded from their home and custody of their two children were granted to him.
David Angle has never appeared in WWE alongside Kurt or as an independent wrestler.
