We may see Kurt Angle in the WWE by next year

Rumours of Kurt Angle returning to WWE have been circulating on every wrestling forum that has been created on the internet. Every defunct forum/site that has been looking for resurrection, this seems the best click bait. But as every wise wrestling fan would know, the relationship between the wrestler and the organization is nothing more than that of a cat and a mouse.

The Olympic gold medallist tried to make a return in 2014 when the WWE offered him a full-time contract but Kurt rejected it. Kurt had mentioned that he might try again next year. But now, there appears to be a new twist to this tale. Recently, Kurt spoke Title Match Wrestling and was asked about his most awaited return to the squared circle. Kurt optimistically said that although with NXT WWE has a really good talent pool, there might be a need for additional hands.

He mentioned that he has spoken to Vince and Triple H about his return and there have been talks. But at the end of the day, it is their call whether they would like to have Angle in the ring for a segment or not. However, he doesn't expect his return to be this year at all. It could happen next year or “maybe not at all”. According to Angle, there is a noted interest on both sides, but so far nothing has materialized.

As reported earlier, things seem different this time. Dave Meltzer had mentioned that the 2K video game series has been in talks with Angle to appear in 2K18. As with the likes of Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg this might be an apt time for the WWE to script a segment with Kurt.

Kurt has been a student of pro wrestling right since his debut in WWE in 1999. He retired in 2006 and joined TNA later that year. His final storyline with TNA concluded in 2016. Since then he has been a part of the independent circuit and also signed with Bellator MMA in 2015.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
