What's the story?
There is some good news for Vader's fans. The pre-Attitude Era WWE star recently had open-heart surgery, and it was a success.
Vader's son, Jesse, tweeted using his father's account to let his followers know that Vader's surgery had been a success according to the surgeon, although there is a long road to recovery.
In case you didn't know...
In November of 2016, Vader had announced that he had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, as his long wrestling and football career had taken a toll on his health. The announcement also revealed the alarming fact that the doctors had given him only two years to live.
Vader had a long and successful career in both WWE and WCW, where he held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship a total of three times, and the United States Heavyweight Championship once.
Vader suffered from diseases due to the life he had led, and those alongside his personal demons meant he suffered from several issues.
In December of 2017, Vader gave a positive update regarding his health, saying that he was getting stronger.
The heart of the matter
On the 13th of March, he tweeted that he would have heart surgery the following morning. It is unclear whether the surgery was delayed, but Vader has now undergone open heart surgery, days after he announced it on Twitter once again.
In his initial post, Vader asked for wishes of luck from his followers and hoped that his doctor had a good night's rest.
Recently Vader had taken to Twitter to say that his heart had slowed into the thirty's and it did not look good, as he asked for prayers from his fans.
His son announced on Twitter from his father's account recently and let the fans know that the surgery had been a success. He also mentioned, however, that it was 'worse' what they had expected, also saying that there was a long road to recovery.
