What's the story?

That's right folks, Booker T and Corey Graves are going to have to make way for the greatest commentary duo in sports entertainment as the WWE have just announced that 'Good Old' Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler will be reuniting for the star-studded RAW 25th Anniversary show.

In case you didn't know...

The two legendary commentators had hinted that they might be reunited for RAW 25 in quite unsubtle ways, such as the following from Jerry Lawler from his podcast 'Dinner with a King' back in early December

It’s almost 99.9% certain that J.R. and I will be reunited for the 25th Anniversary Raw show on January 22 to do commentary

but as always as a wrestling fan, you don't want to get carried away until it's actually announced.

The heart of the matter

But, we can get excited now, as it's been officially announced, with Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross providing commentary for the events at the Manhattan Center, which is set to be the venue for the WWE Superstars of the past.

That means we're likely to get the duo commentating on DX also reuniting for the show, the appearances of Sgt. Slaughter, The Dudley Boyz and Ric Flair, and maybe even a historic Undertaker appearance ahead of WrestleMania.

What's next?

It really seems like the WWE are pulling out all of the stops to make their grand Monday Night RAW 25th Anniversary show feel as special as possible, they've reunited JR and 'The King', they've got a whole host of WWE legends appearing and they're even working on a retro set for the show.

Author's take

This is welcome news as it wouldn't be a RAW Anniversary show without the legendary duo at the commentary desk. Now that yet another piece has come together, it's sure to be a 'Slobberknocker' of a show.
