What's the story?
Luke Harper was sent home from SmackDown Live's South American Tour this weekend, so that he could be by his wife's side to witness the birth of his second child.
In case you didn't know
Luke Harper has been mostly associated with The Wyatt Family during his four-year tenure in WWE. However, Harper is a former Intercontinental Champion in his own right. He and fellow Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan recently unveiled their new characters as The Bludgeon Brothers and look set for a huge push in the SmackDown Tag Team Division.
Outside of WWE, Harper has been married to his wife Synndy Synn since 2008. The couple already have one son together, named Brodie after Harper's Independent wrestling name was Brodie Lee. That name was chosen because Harper was no longer able to use it in WWE, and consequently decided to instead give it to his son when he was born in 2012.
The heart of the matter
Much of the WWE Universe held their breath when it was revealed that Harper was being sent home from the tour, but PWInsider is now reporting that congratulations are in order for the former Tag Team Champion after he and his wife Synndy welcomed their second son earlier today.
Harper had to rush back to America to be by her side since she had gone into early labour and their son wasn't originally scheduled to arrive this early.
What's next
Harper and Rowan are taking the tag team division by storm on SmackDown Live so hopefully, Harper won't be away from WWE TV for too long. The Bludgeon Brothers need to continue the impact they have already made on the tag division. This isn't the first time a WWE star has missed a tour to witness the miracle of seeing their child welcomed to the world, but it is nice to see WWE allowing Harper to take time off to be with his wife and his newborn child.

Luke Harper has long been one of the most genuine superstars in the WWE locker room and it's fantastic that he has some news to celebrate after a somewhat lacklustre year in WWE for him. The interesting question now is whether or not their second son will follow tradition and be called Luke or Lee, either way.
