What's the story?
Mike Kanellis signed with WWE last year, and though he has made very few appearances on television since that time. He suffered from addiction issues which he revealed to the public shortly after his wife became pregnant.
Mike Kanellis recently took to Instagram, where he shared a picture of his baby and talked about his journey in the past year.

At the Money in the Bank event in 2017, Mike Kanellis appeared on WWE programming, alongside his wife, Maria. The duo was given an incredible theme song and seemed like they were about to get a big push. The Power of Love gimmick they were working with seemed as if it had potential and to the WWE fans, it looked like Kanellis would be holding a spot on at least the mid-card of the main roster.
This did not work out for them, as after a few weeks of feuding with Sami Zayn, they faded into obscurity. The reality was that Maria was pregnant and could no longer appear in the ring. Mike's gimmick was incomplete without her, and he would soon stop making appearances on WWE television as well.
In 2018, he made the jump to the Raw roster and appeared in the Greatest Royal Rumble event which took place in Saudi Arabia.
The heart of the matter
Mike Kanellis recently shared a photo of his baby on Instagram and talked about the journey he undertook in the last year. He talked about being addicted to pain-killers, and watching all that he loved slowly slip away from him.
He revealed that he was sober for ten years, and he had plans on continuing that, making the best use of the second chance he had been offered. He referred to his baby, saying that was the least that she deserved.
When Kanellis appeared in WWE it looked like he was set for an incredible journey alongside his wife, Maria. Although the journey did not turn out to be quite what the fans expected, it has been quite something nonetheless.
Soon after his wife announced her pregnancy, Maria and Mike revealed the addiction-related issues Mike faced to the public. He talked about how he got hooked on drugs and he committed to getting clean.
What's next?
While Mike has not had the best run in the company, he has managed to deal with his own personal demons. In the near future fans may see him make a bigger return to the ring, now that he has made the jump to Raw.

Drugs are something which can ruin lives, and it is great to hear that Mike Kanellis is now 10 months sober. He has had a tough time in life, but now with a baby girl, and with his place on the WWE roster, he has the opportunity to make things better for himself and his family. The steps he has taken to put his life together make him an inspiration to many.
