Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair have teamed up for the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge

What's the story?

The WWE Twitter account gave us a sneak peek into the new partnership of Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode as they prepare for the WWE Mixed Match Challenge, which begins next week.

In case you didn't know...

In addition to Roode and Charlotte, seven other pairings have been announced such as Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks and Finn Balor, and real-life married couples Lana and Rusev, and Naomi and Jimmy Uso.

Also, Nia Jax will team with Apollo Crews, Asuka will team with the returning Miz, and Alicia Fox will team with Goldust. There are still a few teams that have not been formally announced.

The heart of the matter

The WWE's official twitter handle posted the below video, showing Roode and Charlotte Flair trying out their outfits:

While Charlotte looked absolutely stunning and comfortable in Bobby Roode's robe, I don't think the same can be said for Bobby Roode in Charlotte's robe. Bobby would post the following snapshot on Twitter as well:

Let's just say that I don't think Bobby was too thrilled about trading robes. He'll have to get some extensions to be able to get that robe tied around his chest for sure.

What's next?

The Mixed Match Challenge is only a little over a week away when it debuts on Facebook Watch after SmackDown Live goes off the air on Tuesday, January 16th. The single-elimination tournament will be stretched out over the course of 12 episodes each around 20 minutes in length.

Author's take

Bobby sounds like Kurt Angle trying to WOO! That was a great video.

Of all the pairings that have been announced, this one of Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode is my favorite for sure and this video cemented that.

It was already a smart decision pairing two wrestlers that wear the iconic robe to the ring, but their larger than life personas will make this a very entertaining team that could win the tournament.
