Will Gronk pop up once again on WWE television?

What's the story?

As reported by TMZ Sports, WWE Superstar Mojo Rawley has revealed that he might just team up with Rob Gronkowski in the future. However, he maintained that the Gronk is focussed on his career in the NFL and will not be signed by the WWE until he is done with football. You can watch the interview below:

In case you didn't know...

Over the last few weeks Gronkowski has made quite the impact inside of the squared circle, first appearing at WrestleMania 33 during the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Gronk assisted his long-time friend Rawley in winning the trophy, before then appearing once again on SmackDown Live where he interacted with Jinder Mahal for a second time.

The heart of the matter

During the brief interview with TMZ, Rawley had the following to say when asked if fans will get to see him team up with the Gronk in the WWE:

“I guess you guys are gonna have to stay tuned. We’ve got some momentum going right now so we’re going to have to capitalise on this at some point.”

When further question if the WWE has approached the Gronk about a contract Rawley said,

"Oh man are you kidding? Of course we've explored that opportunity. but Gronk’s focussed on his career right now and he’s been training real had and yeah we’ve been having a little bit of fun with us the last couple of weeks but that he hasn’t let that take from his NFL career, from the Patriots so he’s statying focussed. We don’t want to rope him in too far because he’s in the zone right now. But, hey, you never know what the future is gonna hold."

What's next?

It appears as if Rawley is set for a big push on the blue brand off the back of this run, with his victory in the ATGMBR seemingly catapulting him into a more prominent mid card status.

Considering the depth of main event talent, it doesn't seem likely that Mojo will ascend to those heights any time soon, but a chase for the United States Championship could soon be on the cards.

Author's take

We've started to warm up to Mojo over the last few weeks, despite how frustrating his victory at WrestleMania 33 was upon the original viewing. When it comes to Gronk, however, the idea of him actually wrestling shouldn't be brought up again for a long time considering his potential when it comes to the Patriots.

Then again, a tag team match alongside Mojo at SummerSlam may not be completely off the cards.
