WWE News: Naomi suffered serious injuries at the hands of the Riott Squad on SmackDown Live

This

This was not a good night for Naomi

What's the story?

Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan were pretty pumped to get a chance to perform on the main roster and they banded together to form quite an unstoppable team. The Riott Squad had their first match on SmackDown Live this week and everything went according to plan.

But in the process, it seems as though Naomi suffered a few injuries which could see her out of action for some time. The rather inventive spot where she was catapulted into the steel ring steps seemed was what caused the injury.

In case you didn't know...

WWE sometimes uses injuries in a kayfabe sense where someone's not really hurt and just need to be taken off television for a little while. Naomi's been working hard and making towns for quite a while now and clearly deserves some rest and relaxation.

Therefore it's likely Naomi isn't really injured, yet may miss TV time. Then again we thought the same thing after watching Braun Strowman being smashed by a garbage truck at TLC but The Glow is no Monster Among Men.

The heart of the matter...

To add insult to injury, Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott (she needs to add that extra "t" to her social media profiles) posted about their attack on SmackDown Live. I was a rather commanding way to make your presence known, that's for sure.

This new team certainly means business and it might only be a matter of time before their presence on the roster alone will shift the momentum greatly. After all, this is only their second week on the main roster and they've already done plenty of damage.

What's next?

As the weeks go by we might see Naomi come back and seek some vengeance for this heinous attack at the hands of the Riott Squad. She's way too popular to be written off of television entirely but you never know what can happen in WWE.

Author's take

This new faction of fierce females on SmackDown Live is already doing a lot to make their name worth that extra "t" and it doesn't seem like they'll be slowing down anytime soon. I just wonder who their next victim will be and how long they'll be allowed to run roughshod over the blue brand's beauties before these three are put in their place.
