O'Reilly and Fish are members of The Undisputed Era

What's the story?

On this week's episode of WWE NXT, members of The Undisputed Era; Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish won their first championships in WWE via defeating Sanity to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.

In case you didn't know...

Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish made their NXT debut as a tag team back at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III on August 19th, 2017, when they brutally blindsided Sanity and The Authors of Pain.

Prior to their WWE run, both O'Reilly and Fish were one of the best tag teams on the planet and went by the name of reDragon during their time in Ring of Honor, NJPW, and the Indies. ReDragon is also one of the most successful tag teams in the wrestling world and has also won numerous championships with various major wrestling companies.

The duo of O'Reilly and Fish are former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and are former HRW Tag Team Champions as well.

The heart of the matter

On tonight's episode of WWE NXT; Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish captured their first championship in the WWE after they defeated the team of Killian Dain and Eric Young to win the NXT Tag Team Titles in the Full Sail University.

However, the title change actually took place back on 29th November 2017, at an NXT TV tapings and it has also been noted that both O'Reilly and Fish have been defending the tag team titles at various NXT live events, since winning the championships last month.

ReDragon winning the tag team titles also meant that Sanity's reign as champions came to an end at 102 days.

What's next?

Both O'Reilly and Fish will be looking forward to defending their tag team titles against some of NXT's top tag teams. This is also The Undisputed Era's first championship win on NXT and the faction's leader Adam Cole will be looking to add the NXT Championship to the stable's ranks in the near future as well.

Author's take

In my opinion, Sanity should have had a longer title reign. However, reDragon is one of the top tag teams on the planet today and putting the tag team championships on them also feels like a very solid decision.
