WWE News: New details on Rich Swann's arrest

What's the story

Rich Swann is an incredible sports entertainer who came into the WWE Universe by way of the fantastic Cruiserweight Classic but that doesn't excuse his actions in the slightest. It looks like his days with WWE is in jeopardy as the former Cruiserweight Champion was arrested for battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment. The Gainesville Florida police department released the official police report concerning the case.

WWE has a 0 tolerance policy concerning this kind of thing and Swann was indefinitely suspended following the release of this police report.

Heart of the matter...

According to the recently released report from the Gainesville, Florida police department, Rich Swann and his wife indie wrestler Su Yung were travelling home from a show Yung performed on.

Swann was allegedly critiquing his wife's performance that night and was getting angry while talking to her. One witness stated they saw the car Swann was driving become erratically and stopped suddenly in the middle of traffic.

Swann's wife reportedly ran from the car and Swann emerged to follow her while yelling for his wife to return to the car. One witness stated the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion got his wife "in a headlock" and push her back in the car. Regardless of how Swann got his wife back to the car, it was said to be by force while she screamed for help the entire time.

One witness said Swann didn't even put his car in park to chase his wife and the car slowly rolled into a telephone pole during the nightmarish situation.

According to the report, the victim was banging on the window and screaming for help while the car pulled away.

Yung later stated Swann "has a temper sometimes" and she fled the situation because she feared physical violence.

What's next

Rich Swann needs to get a good attorney and realise his days in WWE very well could be numbered. If he is convicted of this crime, WWE's 0 tolerance policy dictates he will be terminated.

Swann is a great entertainer and a fan favourite in many areas. His charisma and smile are part of his character but this situation isn't anything to smile about at all.

These alleged actions are inexcusable and since there are witnesses to the event, it really makes them hard to refute. WWE did the right thing by suspending Swann right away.
