What's the story?
Shayna Baszler and Ember Moon told a great story in their NXT Women's Title match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans with several callbacks and counters to their previous encounters, but eventually, it would be 'The Queen of Spades' Shayna Baszler becoming the new NXT Women's Champion
In case you didn't know...
Since her debut in the Mae Young Classic, Shayna Baszler has been tearing through the NXT Women's roster with her vicious fighting style and submission moves. She has been viciously trying to break Ember Moon's arm throughout the last few months, also attacking other women to get Moon to agree to the title match.
At the last TakeOver, Baszler used all of her submission knowledge to put Moon through a gruelling amount of punishment and almost had the match won, with Moon only just surviving and retaining thanks to a roll-up.
The heart of the matter
Ember Moon seemed to have Baszler scouted during the first half of the match, even turning the tables on Baszler by using her own stomp to the arm to take Baszler's arm out of action. However, Baszler used the ring post to pop her arm back in.
Moon then throws all caution to the wind and hits a ridiculous looking spot with an Eclipse to the outside of the ring, which you can see below.
The finish was true to both women with Baszler countering another Eclipse into her Choke Hold and Moon passing out rather than tapping out, leading to Baszler to win the title via knockout.
What's next?
I have to imagine that Ember Moon is on her way to the main roster and might even be appearing at the 'Mania pre-show as part of the inaugural WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal Match.
Shayne goes on to wrestle either Dakota Kai or Peyton Royce for the title at tomorrow morning's Axxess show.

I was concerned about this match following that Ladder Match but these two women put on a great show and got the crowd behind them, telling a superb story and in the end the result was the right one!
