WWE News: New signings all expected to start out in NXT

WWE
WWE's newest additions - War Machine, Candice LeRae and Ricochet

What’s the story?

On a recent conference call to promote NXT TakeOver Philadelphia, Triple H was asked when and where he expected WWE's new signings to pop up.

He confirmed that while all four are very experienced, he fully expects them all to start out in NXT rather than jumping straight to the main roster.

In case you didn’t know…

Earlier this month, WWE signed four incredibly talented and well-known independent wrestlers in Ricochet, Candice LeRae and the tag team War Machine.

Apart from one notable exception in AJ Styles, every star WWE has signed over the past few years who have made their name on the indies have all gone to NXT before stepping up to the main roster.

The heart of the matter

Triple H was asked about the new signings and responded that the way it usually works now is that everyone goes through NXT as it's unfair to send talent to the main roster before they know how WWE produces TV.

He added that it doesn't matter who you are or where you worked because, without that comfort level, it's intense to make the transformation from independent wrestling to WWE and can be overwhelming if you're not prepared.

Triple H said that he expects all four talents to be in NXT at least at first she doesn't want to see anyone fail. He hinted that any new signings without prior WWE experience will spend some time in NXT as he wants to make sure everyone has all the tools to succeed before they are unleashed onto Raw or SmackDown Live - because then he believes it is up to them to be creative and make things happen.

What’s next?

Well, all four have been in WWE for less than a month. They have been training at the Performance Center.

It's not yet known when we will specifically see any of these talents, but it might not be hugely surprising to see any of them pop up incredibly quickly.

With NXT TakeOver this weekend, it may be a bit too soon, but we may well see them in the front row as has happened with new signings in the past.

Author’s take

While it would be cool to see Ricochet in the Royal Rumble match or even Candice LeRae pop up on Sunday, we can see why Triple H has made the statement he has.

You never know, we may still see any of the above pop up this weekend, either at NXT TakeOver or at the Royal Rumble. Who knows? They could make a brief appearance than having a lengthy or short run in NXT before heading to Raw or SmackDown Live.

Either way, it keeps us on our toes and I cannot wait to see all four of these incredible talents on WWE TV.
