What's the story?

HBO posted the second trailer for the Andre The Giant documentary on their YouTube account Friday. Throughout the 90-second trailer, several wrestling personalities and celebrities would discuss the life of Andre.

In case you didn't know...

Andre The Giant's full name is André René Roussimoff, and he was born in Grenoble, France in 1946. His Pro Wrestling career began in 1963 and would span nearly 30 years as he retired in 1992.

For the WWWF and the WWF, he would have an undefeated streak that lasted from 1973 to 1987. He held the WWF World Heavyweight Championship on one occasion, as well as the WWF Tag Team Championship with Haku once.

The heart of the matter

There were a lot of high points in the career of Andre The Giant, but there were also a lot of struggles in his life. This trailer goes through each end of the spectrum quickly from the height of his success to being in a lot of physical and emotional pain.

Several stars appeared in the trailer including "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robin Wright (who Andre co-starred with in the 1987 movie The Princess Bride), legendary actor Billy Crystal, legendary actor and director Rob Reiner, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, Jim Ross, and Vince McMahon.

The special is produced jointly by the WWE, HBO, and Bill Simmons who is formerly of ESPN.

What's next?

The Andre The Giant documentary will premiere on HBO the Tuesday after WrestleMania, April 10th. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for any further information regarding this special show.

Author's take

Much like Ric Flair's 30 For 30 special that recently aired on ESPN, Andre's life story is also full of jubilation and heartbreak. There will be a lot of great moments shown in this documentary, but there will be a lot of dark ones as well. I cannot wait to see this shortly after WrestleMania.
