WWE News: Another opponent lined up for Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes was released by the WWE on the 22nd of May

Former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes who sought his release from the WWE this past month has apparently had no shortage of opportunities since then.

Having already been booked to work two matches for North East Wrestling’s “Wrestling Under The Stars” event against Michael Bennett and Kurt Angle in August, it has been announced that Rhodes will work with Pat Buck for a WrestlePro event on September 10th in Rahway, New Jersey.

But unlike the other two matches, this one seems to be a little more than just an exhibition, with the duo having shared some history in the ring.

Cody Rhodes has tweeted that his first professional outing inside the squared circle came in a losing effort against Pat Buck back in 2006, and that he is looking for redemption when they face off again in September.

This match has of course been booked on the back of the list that Cody put out on social media following his release from the WWE.

And Pat Buck is playing up his role, claiming that he is a dark horse on the list for a reason, and will prove why when they square up against each other again.

It does seem that things are heating up for Cody Rhodes ever since he decided to part ways with the WWE.
