What's the story?

Nia Jax has been absent from WWE TV over the past few weeks, with many of the WWE Universe wondering why the heavyweight hasn't stepped up to the challenge of Absolution ever since their debut two weeks ago, but it seems that WWE has much bigger plans for the Samoan star.

In case you didn't know

Nia Jax was missing for a number of weeks earlier this year when it was reported that the former NXT star had walked out of WWE after a dispute about her match with Sasha Banks at TLC.

It seems that the issue was fixed and Nia later returned to WWE to be part of Survivor Series in the Women's Elimination match but was eliminated via count out even though Asuka later lead their team to victory.

Nia hasn't been seen since Survivor Series with the focus of the Women's Division currently on Paige, Absolution and Asuka's rise through the ranks.

The heart of the matter

In an interesting turn of events, Nia Jax appeared backstage following Enzo's battle cry to the heel side of the 205 Live locker room to apparently flirt with the Cruiserweight Champion in what could be Nia's first romantic storyline of her WWE career.

Nia looked different with her hair tied back into plaits as she uttered Enzo's signature "How you doin?" phrase to Enzo, which obviously made The Certified G feel slightly uncomfortable. Nia isn't the first woman to be pushed over to 205 Live, with Alicia Fox having a lengthy romantic storyline with Noam Dar and Cedric Alexander in the division earlier this year.

What's next?

Nia could be pulled into a storyline with Enzo based off this backstage segment, which could be interesting for the current Total Divas star since she has never been able to show off her acting skills in a real storyline that didn't include beating down a member of the Women's Division. Lana recently noted on Total Divas that Nia needed some acting lessons and time to cut promos and it seems that WWE was listening.

Authors take

This could be a great move for Nia, she isn't the most popular woman in the division right now, so WWE is attempting to put her into a position that could humanize her, which is odd considering that have attempted to build her as a beast over the past few months. Nia's booking hasn't been great, with losses to women who are much smaller than her, so something like this could turn her into a fan favorite and being able to work on a storyline with someone like Enzo will only help her improve on the mic.
