On the latest episode of WWE Smackdown, Nikki Bella unveiled a new finishing move – a submission hold which she refers to as ‘Fearless Lock’. The move resembles her partner John Cena’s STF submission hold, which the superstar often puts to use.

However, it is not Cena, but former UFC superstar Shayna Baszler, who has helped the former WWE Divas champion gain mastery over it.

This fact came to light through a tweet posted by Nikki on the Twitter account that she shares with her sister, Brie. She thanked Baszler for coaching her and claimed that the ‘Fearless Lock’ would have been not have been possible without her.

‘The Queen of Spades’, as Shayna Baszler is popularly known, shied away from taking the credit, and came up with a very modest response by tweeting, “I just handed you tools. YOU made it yours! #proud.”

The first victim of Nikki Bella’s new, ‘Fearless Lock’, was none other than the third-generation superstar, Natalya Neidhart, who is well-known for her own submission manoeuvres. When she was expecting it least, the move from Nikki hit Natalya out of nowhere, and she had no option but to tap out.

The match between the two WWE women’s superstars was fixed by Smackdown general manager, Daniel Bryan, to decide who will be the brand’s team captain for a traditional tag team match, against the Raw women’s team at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

With Natalya Neidhart having all the moves to counter Nikki Bella, the latter needed something special to keep her opponent down, and the ‘Fearless Lock’ gave her that edge. This not only meant that Nikki will be the captain of the Smackdown team but also ensured that Natalya would not feature in it.
