WWE News: Noam Dar expected to miss upwards of five months due to injury

The Zo Train will be one short for a few months...

What's the story?

The WWE announced on their website Friday afternoon that a member of the Cruiserweight Division and the Zo Train, Noam Dar, will miss up to five months after surgery for a knee injury.

In case you didn't know...

Dar is an Israeli-born Scottish wrestler whose career started in 2008 at the early age of 15 in the United Kingdom. During the Cruiserweight Classic last year, Dar would make it to the third round by defeating Gurv Shira (Sunil of the Singh Brothers) and Ho Ho Lun before losing to Zack Sabre, Jr.

The heart of the matter...

Dar had successful surgery on his knee in Orlando, Florida on Thursday. Originally it was thought to just be a minor procedure to clean up his knee, but it turns out that Dar tore his meniscus during the Fatal 4 Way match on the November 27th edition of Monday Night Raw that was to help determine the next challenger for WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore.

Noam would speak to WWE.com regarding the surgery. Take a look at his quote below:

"We don't have any confirmed time frame just yet because I obviously need to see the post-op, but it's more than likely going to be around the five-month mark," Dar explained. "That would be with me working extensively at the [WWE] Performance Center, so that will make a huge difference. Staying on top of everything so we can hopefully take that time down a little bit."

Dar mentioned that he had already spoken with all of his Zo Train mates except for Enzo. He even mentioned that Tony Nese asked Noam if he would like to go to the premiere of the new Star Wars movie, but unfortunately he's too immobile to go out yet.

Noam also said that of the members of the Zo Train, Ariya Daivari will be the most devastated as he would jokingly explain below:

"Daivari is obviously upset that he's lost his rooming buddy, so that would be stressful for anyone. So, he's going to have a long five months of not having my hilarious companionship."

What's next?

The next five months for Noam Dar will be full of rest and then rehab as he hopefully will be able to make it back to the WWE in time for WrestleMania, but at this point, it looks like it could be a long shot.

Author's take...

I'll definitely miss Dar on Monday Night Raw and 205 Live. I've always been a fan of his talent, but being on 205 Live brought out his great personality and humour as well, especially with the Alicia Fox storyline. I hope he has a speedy recovery and comes back ahead of schedule so he can participate in Mania in some way.
