What's the story?
WWE SmackDown Live's Superstar Shakeup saw a lot of changes take place on the roster. An NXT Faction was called up onto the Blue Brand roster, during the show. Although they did not show up in person, a promo aired, teasing their debut on the show soon.
In case you didn't know...
For those unfamiliar with Sanity in NXT, it consisted of Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain. Nikki Cross was also a part of the faction and the team together had a chaotic approach to in-ring work. They held the NXT Tag Team Titles after defeating the Authors of Pain in August at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. They would go on to lose the titles to the Undisputed Era in December. They were also a part of the first-ever NXT Takeover: WarGames, in the WarGames matchup against the Undisputed Era and the team of Roderick Strong and the Authors of Pain.
Sanity as a team, did not have much in the way of a storyline lately in NXT. Killian Dain was part of the Ladder Match for the North American Championship at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, but was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the inaugural Title.
The heart of the matter
SmackDown Live's Superstar Shakeup saw a lot of changes to the Blue Brand, not the least of which was the NXT Faction that was called up to the main roster.
Although Sanity did not show up in person, a vignette aired on the show, promoting their arrival. The poster promoting the team's call-up to the SmackDown Live roster did cause some questions among the fans, however.
Conspicuous by her absence on the poster was Nikki Cross, the fourth member of the faction. This has led to speculation that Cross may remain in NXT, while the rest of her faction make their way onto the main roster.
What's next?
The trio did not show up on this week's episode of SmackDown Live, and will possibly make their main roster debut on next week's episode.
Author's take
Sanity was one of the top factions in NXT and provided an edge and element of chaos by their very presence. Their presence on the main roster can only add to the greatness of the current blue brand.
