WWE News: NXT superstar comes to Carmella's aid at SmackDown Live Event (Possible spoiler)

What's the story?

Fans in Vancouver, Canada were stunned as an NXT superstar made a surprise appearance during a SmackDown Live event. This superstar was none other than the Pirate Princess, NXT's own Kairi Sane.

Was this a one-off appearance for Kairi Sane? Or is this a sign of things to come, regarding her main roster call-up?

In case you didn't know...

Kairi Sane is no stranger to the main roster, per se. She was in the Royal Rumble last year and also in the WrestleMania Battle Royal, hanging with some of the best in the division.

Kairi Sane is a former NXT Champion, who's stepped away from the title scene for now after a heated rivalry with Shayna Baszler. She's also the winner of the Mae Young Classic and a winner of two NXT Year End awards for 2018.

It may be time for her call-up to the main roster, soon after WrestleMania 35 is done.

The heart of the matter

Thanks to Wrestling Inc. for the update. The IIconics were in the ring in Vancouver when they were confronted by Carmella. Kairi Sane came in, to even the odds and a Tag Team match was made. The babyfaces went over in the contest.

Fans were thrilled to see Kairi Sane in action, which was a genuine surprise to most. One wonders if this call-up is a sign that she will be on the SmackDown brand after WrestleMania, which also contains her fellow Japanese superstar, Asuka. Or if indeed, she was just brought on as a cameo and a feel-good moment.

What's next?

It doesn't seem like Kairi Sane will be in the title picture anytime soon. It may be time for her to move up to the main roster next. She's certainly popular enough, judging by the reaction in Vancouver!
