WWE News: NXT superstars pick their favorites to win this year's Men's Royal Rumble

What’s the story?

WWE recently held a brief question and answer session with several top NXT superstars and asked them to pick their winner for this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. Several superstars such as Adam Cole, NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon, NXT’s latest signing Trevor “Ricochet” Mann and much more revealed their picks during the Q&A session. In case you didn’t know…

The Royal Rumble is the first pay-per-view in WWE’s calendar year and it is also considered as one of the most exciting PPVs, if not the most exciting event of the year. The 30-man over the top rope Royal Rumble match dates back to the year 1988 and has been a tradition ever since. In the past, legendary superstars such as the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Edge, and Triple H have all won the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with the WWE broadcast team at the Performance Center, the current leader of The Undisputed Era faction Adam Cole said that he doesn’t really care about who prevails as the winner of this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble but if he had to make a choice or a decision then he would put his bet on former NXT Champion Finn Balor as the winner of this year’s Rumble match, Cole would also throw up the “Too Sweet” hand gesture while naming Balor as his pick for this year’s Royal Rumble. Now, as some of you may not know, prior to signing with the WWE, Adam Cole was a member of the Bullet Club, a faction that was initially started by Finn Balor back in 2013 in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Former NJPW star and latest NXT signee Ricochet claimed that he thinks former Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns will win this year’s Men’s Rumble match because he is “The Big Dog”.

What’s next?

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place this coming Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and this year we will also witness the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match as well.

Adam Cole throwing up the Too Sweet and naming Finn Balor as his pick for this year’s Royal Rumble certainly felt like a great moment, and I do believe it goes on to reflect on the fact that once upon a time Cole was also a member of the Bullet Club. Personally, I think seeing Adam Cole and AJ Styles patch up with The Balor Club in the future will definitely turn out to be one of the greatest moments in recent WWE history and the WWE Universe will also get to witness WWE’s own version of The Bullet Club.
