What's the story?

This week's episodes of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live hosted the Superstar Shakeup. Quite a few Superstars made the jump to the opposing brand over the two nights of the event.

The shows saw a huge title change, as well as many NXT Call-ups, in addition to the traded Superstars themselves.

In case you didn't know...

The last Superstar Shakeup took place in 2017 and saw significant changes to the roster, which shaped the product that each brand provided over the next year.

Post-WrestleMania 34 a number of stars debuted as well, all of whom were up for trade. SmackDown Live had a new General Manager in the form of Paige, who announced her retirement from active competition on the episode of Raw after WrestleMania.

Raw's General Manager was still Kurt Angle, after he teamed with Ronda Rousey to defeat Stephanie McMahon and her husband, Triple H at WrestleMania.

What's next?

With the all-new rosters, things are about to heat up on both brands due to the new potential feuds.

The Bar is set to have a Raw Tag Team Championship match against Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt for the vacant Tag Team Titles. Jinder Mahal will also challenge Jeff Hardy to a rematch for the United States Titles. Both matches are set to happen at the Greatest Royal Rumble event.

Excluding the NXT Call-ups, Raw had 18 new stars, while SmackDown Live got 12.

Author's take

The changes to the roster have opened up new possibilities of what may or may not happen. These changes, along with the NXT call-ups, have improved both rosters, preventing the feuds from getting stale.
