WWE News: Paul Heyman says The Rock is scared of Brock Lesnar

Lesnar went over the Rock last time around

Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman were recently interviewed by The Sun to promote the new WWE 2K17 video game. During the interview, Heyman was asked about the possibility of a match between Lesnar and former multiple WWE Champion and current box office attraction The Rock:

“Notice how The Rock picks fights with Bray Wyatt, or fights with Rusev and John Cena? Notice how The Rock doesn’t pick a fight with Brock Lesnar? Is Brock Lesnar ready for The Rock? Is The Rock ready for Brock Lesnar?”

The interviewer then stated that a match between Lesnar and the Rock would be an absolutely huge event, attracting thousands upon thousands to sell out the arena and shatter pay per view (PPV) records, making it the biggest Wrestlemania contest of all time:

“I find it insulting that you would say that in front of Brock. I think Brock Lesnar against anyone is an automatic sell-out. Brock does not wrestle 52 Monday’s a year on Monday Night Raw, he does not come to your home town every week, his appearances are rare. They are unique and extraordinary. Which is why, whenever Brock Lesnar appears it is a rare and unique opportunity for the paying customer to see the greatest living athlete in the history of WWE appear live in an extraordinary event that only Brock Lesnar can deliver on. This is why he is the greatest box office attraction.”

Apart from the WWE, Lesnar is also known to be huge box office attraction in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), as the former UFC Heavyweight champion has put up some record-breaking numbers for the UFC as well. His throne has been challenged, however, by current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor who is making strides in PPV records in his own right.

When asked about Conor McGregor claiming that he is a bigger attraction than Lesnar, Heyman responded with the following:

“He’s an interesting fellow. It’s a shame he doesn’t have his facts straight. If Conor McGregor would like to step into a ring or an Octagon against Brock Lesnar to determine not who truly is the biggest box office attraction, we can make that winner take all in bragging rights.”

Do you think a potential matchup between The Rock and Brock Lesnar is a possibility in the near future? And who do you think is the superior draw in combat sports when it comes to McGregor and Lesnar?
