WWE News: Matchup announced for 205 Live
What’s the story?
On this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, a huge Cruiserweight matchup was announced for 205 Live between Akira Tozawa and Tony Nese.
In case you didn’t know…
The WWE has been going all out in its efforts to promote the 205 Live brand and the Cruiserweight division, in their bid to provide a unique platform for smaller performers to showcase their professional wrestling talent.
The heart of the matter
The WWE Cruiserweight division has been the talk of the WWE Universe ever since Enzo Amore dethroned Neville to become one of the unlikeliest champions in promotional history—a move that’s borne the brunt of criticism from fans and pundits owing to Amore being viewed as a less than stellar wrestler in the ring.
However, with the ton of heat being directed toward the division, Amore’s rise to the top has simultaneously served to draw a lot of eyeballs to the 205 Live brand; with the WWE, on its part, cashing in on the same and announcing a pivotal showdown between top contenders Akira Tozawa and Tony Nese.
Akira Tozawa faces Tony Nese on this week’s episode of 205 Live that will air on the WWE network immediately after SmackDown Live on September 26th from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
A potential feud between Akira Tozawa and Enzo Amore could very well be on the cards, should the former get past Tony Nese on 205 Live this week.
With the mic skills that Amore brings to the table and the sheer vibrant persona and athleticism that Tozawa can inject into any given feud, the 205 Live brand can very well strike gold with a possible Tozawa victory this Tuesday.
