WWE News: Possible reason why Tyler Bate has backstage heat with WWE officials
What’s the story?
During the latest instalment of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, respected Pro Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has seemingly revealed the possible reason for why former WWE UK Champion has fallen out of favor of the WWE management.
In case you didn’t know…
As reported earlier, Tyler Bate, who recently suffered four big losses in a row last week, might have backstage heat with the WWE officials as he went 0-4 within the span of seven days. Bate has recently suffered two major losses in NXT against the likes of Roderick Strong and The Velveteen Dream. During last week’s edition of 205 Live, the 20-year-old British superstar was eliminated from WWE’s on-going Cruiserweight Championship tournament after he suffered a first-round loss to TJP.
The heart of the matter
As per Dave Meltzer’s report, Tyler Bate’s possible heat with the WWE management dates way back before he lost the WWE UK Championship to Pete Dunne at NXT Takeover: Chicago last year. The apparent reason why Bate has fallen out of favor of the WWE management is due to a situation where WWE wanted to book Bate on a tour as part of the main roster. However, Bate apparently was not able to accept the offer and couldn’t work the tour due to him being committed to other bookings on the Independent scene and having other engagements. As expected Bate’s refusal did not play well with the WWE management who have evidently decided to put an abrupt halt to Tyler Bate’s push.
Following his UK Title loss to Pete Dunne a few months ago, Tyler Bate has gone on to lose a number of marquee matches against the likes of Roderick Strong, TJP, Enzo Amore, and The Velveteen Dream during the latest set of NXT tapings.
Tyler Bate, in my opinion, is one of the most naturally gifted wrestlers on the planet and at the age of 20, Bate is capable of doing some of the most extraordinary stuff inside the squared circle. It will indeed be a matter of shame if WWE decides to give up on this youngster.
