WWE News: Prince Puma's contract with Lucha Underground ends

It’s been fun

The recent conclusion of season three of Lucha Underground also signalled the end of its relationship with one of its most sensational wrestlers, Prince Puma. The inaugural Lucha Underground champion’s contract with the promotion has ended.

Puma, or Ricochet, started with the promotion in September 2014. Dave Meltzer notes that despite the fact that his contract is over, the possibility of him re-signing shouldn’t be written off.

Meltzer goes on to say Ricochet’s contractual obligations keep him from signing with the WWE. It is reported that the daredevil is planning to work the indy circuit for the next few months before spending the winter with New Japan pro Wrestling.

Ricochet’s arrival in the WWE is speculated to happen sometime in 2017. It was rumored that he would be one of the participants in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic that recently kicked off, but that proved untrue.

Ricochet puncutated the belief that he is one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world currently in his recent match with Will Ospreay in NJPW. The two put on one of the most comprehensive and fluent exhibitions of acrobatics in recent memory.

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross believes that the match will be a contender for Match Of The year, but the contest drew vitriol from another legend, Vader. The veteran called the match a “memorized gymnastics routine” and went on to say “I’m all for wrestling evolving as long as it stays consistent with someone winning and someone losing, Tell that story. Demonstrate that.”
