What's the story?

Randy Orton is at it again on Twitter and this time, the 13-time WWE Champion has seemingly dropped a teaser that has predictably kickstarted a host of speculation online.

Cody Rhodes was featured as the cover star on a WWE show on Telus and Lance Storm was quick to point out the outdated systems of the telecommunications company.

The Apex Predator didn't let the opportunity pass by and made an intriguing comment on the Storm's tweet.

In case you didn't know...

Ever since leaving WWE, Rhodes' stock has risen considerably as the former WWE Intercontinental Champion has established himself as one of the hottest names on the independent circuit.

He is, however, not just content on being regarded as a former WWE star who is doing well for himself in the indies. Rhodes wants to give WWE a run for their money. The past few weeks have been dominated by All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a new promotion funded by American businessmen Shahid and Tony Khan.

Rhodes and the Young Bucks have assumed roles as executive vice presidents of the upstart promotion and have already begun poaching top talents from rival companies, including the WWE.

A handful of WWE superstars are reportedly being lured away by attractive deals offered by AEW.

Now, Randy Orton's comment on Lance Storm's tweet has forced the fans to believe that the Viper could also be contemplating a reunion with his former Legacy stablemate outside Vince McMahon's empire.

The heart of the matter

Orton noted that it had been a long time since Rhodes had left the company and said that it was high time he hooked up with the former WWE Superstar soon.

What's next?

Now, it should be noted that Orton may just be fooling around here as he is scheduled to be a part of the Men's Royal Rumble match. His WWE contract isn't expected to be expiring anytime soon and he should be with the company for the foreseeable future.

However, anything can happen in the unpredictable world of pro wrestling! Orton may just be planning on catching up with Rhodes but his tweet makes us and the fans think otherwise.

While we would love to see Orton as a marquee attraction in AEW, we're sure Vince McMahon would do anything to prevent that from happening.
