What’s the story?
On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed that WWE Raw 25 is expected to be bigger than the Raw after WrestleMania.
Traditionally, the ‘RAW after Wrestlemania’ is considered to be the most important annual edition of the flagship show. However, the inclusion of several WWE legends will make Raw 25 even more of a spectacle.
In case you didn’t know…
The WWE traditionally books several surprise returns and breaks out new storylines on the RAW episode that immediately follows Wrestlemania.
Nevertheless, after RAW’s first episode aired on January 11th, 1993, the WWE has now scheduled a special celebratory episode of Monday Night RAW which airs tonight and is being heavily promoted by the WWE more so than they do the post-Wrestlemania RAW.
The heart of the matter
Veteran professional wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez addressed the magnitude of the 25th-anniversary episode of Monday Night RAW. Below are a few excerpts from his statements regarding the same:
“I’ve been told that at least in terms of production and individuals being brought in, and ideas and pitches, RAW 25 will be bigger than the traditional night after Wrestlemania RAW…Will you like it better? I don’t know, that’s up to you; but the way they’re putting it together, it is a bigger event and higher priority than post-Mania RAW.”
Furthermore, Alvarez’s speculation has been accentuated by the vast majority of pro-wrestling experts, as the WWE has been giving considerable importance to the milestone event, with several WWE legends also scheduled to appear at the event.
What’s next?
RAW 25 will air from not one but two venues tonight (January 22nd, 2018)—with tapings transpiring at the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center and at the nearby Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The event will serve as the go-home episode of Monday Night RAW before the Royal Rumble PPV which takes place on January 28th.

Honestly speaking, the WWE has done a commendable job of hyping up the WWE Universe for RAW 25.
While the 25th-anniversary edition of RAW may be the biggest one of 2018, the electricity in the crowd is seldom like what’s felt on the night after WrestleMania.
