Bobby Lashley is back but why?
Bobby Lashley is back but why?

What's the story?

On the Post-WrestleMania Raw several surprises happened with returns from injury, call-ups from NXT and announcements for the future, but one of the bigger surprises was the return of Bobby Lashley after ten years away from the company. But what brought the popular wrestler back?

In case you didn't know...

We reported earlier in the weekend that Bobby Lashley was in New Orleans meaning he could have been involved at any point over the WrestleMania weekend, from NXT TakeOver, WrestleMania and of course Monday Night Raw where he eventually debuted.

This is after it was reported by various websites earlier in the year that Bobby Lashley had indeed signed a deal with the WWE and would be returning, it was only a matter of when and where.

The heart of the matter

WWE posted a backstage interview with Bobby Lashley conducted by Cathy Kelly on their Twitter page and first of all the returning Superstar is asked how it felt to make his return in front of the New Orleans crowd.

"Man it felt amazing, I've still, I've still got the jitters, I can't even describe it right now. I'm just, I'm on cloud nine, I'm ready to go. I've been training my ass off, I'm ready for this."

Kelly then asks Lashley why he's returned to the WWE after all this time.

"Unfinished buisness, unfinished business completely. I've taken my level of wrestling in this entire business to a whole another level and I'm ready to go out and show this crowd what I'm about."

Finally, Bobby promises that he is back in the WWE to make the big matches happen and that the WWE Universe will see Lashley face all of the dream opponents that they want him to face.

What's next?

Given that Bobby Lashley interrupted Elias and laid the cocky musician low it seems likely that Lashley's first feud and match back with the WWE will be against 'The Drifter.' After that, it seems like a match with Lesnar is a distinct possibility.

Author's take

It's 2018 and two of Impact Wrestling's top stars from last year are in the WWE, Ronda Rousey had a classic at WrestleMania and the two best matches the WWE has put on were by some guy called Johnny Wrestling. I love this industry. Welcome to the mad house Lashley.
