– The WWE have recently ushered in the heavily marketed “New Era”. There have been a lot of additions to the main roster from other promotions as well as from NXT. The WWE had to make way for these incoming talents by releasing others. Their recent release of stars such as El Torito, Cameron, Hornswoggle and Bad News Barrett is clear proof of that. The one severance which surprised all was Damien Sandow.
Sandow was extremely over with the fans and had decent wrestling abilities. Sandow could have been a star but WWE had other plans when he was relegated to the jobber league. It is reported that Sandow was released from the WWE for one reason in particular.
The WWE officials saw nothing wrong in Sandow, but the only reason he was axed was to freshen up the main roster. There was a lot of surprise regarding his release and a lot of people have supported him.
Sandow also got a shout out from Hall of Famer Rikishi after he tweeted in Sandow’s support. Sandow acknowledged by tweeting him back and thanked Rikishi and his whole family.
