NXT Universe, get ready for Ricochet!

What's the story?

On this week's edition of NXT, a vignette appeared for the first time showing Trevor Mann, better known as Ricochet. The 30-second clip let the NXT Universe know he was "coming soon."

In case you didn't know...

Ricochet began wrestling professionally in 2003 on his 15th birthday. He's been with several of the major independent promotions such as Chikara, Dragon Gate, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

He was known as Prince Puma since the inception of Lucha Underground until his final appearance at the end of the third season. He captured their trios championship once and the Lucha Underground Championship twice.

The heart of the matter

Take a look at the vignette from Wednesday's NXT below:

The video showed his television debut at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, as well as his NXT Live appearances over the past few weeks, and it confirms they will go with the Ricochet name.

At the March 7th NXT television tapings he wrestled Chris Dijak, and during these tapings, it was revealed that Ricochet will have a role in NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

Ricochet will be in a ladder match on April 7th to crown the first ever NXT North American Champion, the first secondary title for the NXT brand. Also competing in the ladder match will be EC3, Adam Cole, Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream, and Killian Dain.

As you can see in the vignette, Ricochet is a very-talented high flyer with innovative offence such as the 630° Senton.

What's next?

William Regal will make a big announcement on NXT next week, and that will be regarding the NXT North American Championship. According to the reports, the participants will also be announced on next week's episode.

Author's take

I'm glad they stuck with the Ricochet name, it has a lot of brand recognition and it was the right call.

I'm VERY excited for his debut. The addition of him in the ladder match is going to be the perfect showcase for his talents. That match will steal the show.
