What’s the story?

Rockstar Spud has taken to social media so as to post a photograph of a bridge located in Philadelphia.

Spud added an interesting caption to the photo, alluding to potentially making his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble this weekend.

In case you didn’t know…

Rockstar Spud rose to prominence in Impact Wrestling where he performed from 2012-17 and was part of several key storylines.

Spud signed with the WWE in October of last year, and experts believe that he’s likely to join the WWE’s Cruiserweight Division very soon.

The heart of the matter

The photograph sent out by Rockstar Spud shows the Benjamin Franklin bridge, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Spud simply captioned it with the following phrase—“I appreciate this bridge.”

This, in turn, has set the professional wrestling community abuzz regarding Spud possibly making his on-screen debut in the WWE at the Royal Rumble PPV which takes place this weekend in Philadelphia.

What’s next?

The WWE’s Royal Rumble PPV airs from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, January 28th.

The event is expected to see several past Superstars return in the traditional Royal Rumble matches, and could very well have Spud introduce himself to the WWE Universe.

Author’s take

Rockstar Spud may not be the biggest or the worst of the lot, however, he truly comprehends the fine art of professional wrestling and knows well how to be a sports-entertainer.

Spud’s comic timing and in-ring storytelling are second to none, and that in turn could benefit him greatly in the WWE. Besides, with Enzo Amore ousted from the WWE, the Cruiserweight Division and the 205 Live brand could use a shot in the arm, so to speak. Spud is great on the mic and perhaps could serve as a great replacement for the former on the WWE’s purple brand.
