WWE News: Roman Reigns makes a really bold claim

The WWE Network has a cool new show!
The WWE Network has a cool new show!

What's the story?

The WWE Network is certainly well worth the price. In addition to a monthly pay-per-view event, they also keep dishing out fresh content every month for fans.

The latest in this series is 'Straight to the Source', a show hosted by RAW and SmackDown Live Announcer Corey Graves. Roman Reigns was the first guest on the show, and he said he's the best in-ring performer in the world, at this moment.

In case you didn't know...

At first glance, Straight to the Source seems like a combination of 'Bring it to the Table', where Corey Graves asks the hard-hitting questions, blended with the casual atmosphere of 'Unfiltered with Renee Young'.

It seems like a pretty cool talk show, considering that Graves is a former wrestler himself, and shares a good camaraderie with the WWE locker room.

So much so, that guests sometimes let their guard down and make rather tall claims.

The heart of the matter

Corey Graves asked Reigns if he was the top guy in WWE, to which Reigns replied, 'every day of the week'. He then went on to make the following claim:

You know, I'm the best performer, in-ring, in the world right now. And, you can go to my matches and my pay-per-views over the last three years, and you can say I'm an idiot. Or you can say, 'he's got a point'.

He also went on to say, that they don't teach you things like 'how to retire the Undertaker'. Reigns wishes to command the same kind of respect as The Undertaker and Kurt Angle in the future.

Reigns also recalled the night after WrestleMania and said that he's never felt that kind of respect from the audience when they were chanting for The Phenom.

What's next?

These days, Reigns does get a positive reaction from the WWE Universe. It's clear that he really has the hunger and the desire to be the top guy in the industry, much like his predecessor, John Cena was. There's no reason why he cannot reach the summit.

Author's take

I love this new series. I do not necessarily agree that Reigns is the best in-ring performer in the world, but he's certainly a strong contender.

However, he's not phenomenal, if you catch my drift.
