Roman Reigns and his Shield brothers are back together

What's the story?

Roman Reigns used Twitter to send a message to those standing in the way of The Shield, in a few hours, on Raw and this Sunday at TLC.

In case you didn't know....

The Shield became one of the most popular stables of all time during their run from 2012 to 2014. They targeted anybody from John Cena to Undertaker, to CM Punk to Daniel Bryan. However the trio split in June 2014 after Seth Rollins turned on his partners and joined the Authority.

Now, all seems to be forgiven in regards to Rollins.

Last week on Raw, over 3 years after they split up, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins reunited together as The Shield. They attacked The Miz and The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) and later on in the night they also put Braun Strowman through the announce table with a Triple Powerbomb. The WWE Universe was very excited to them rejoin each other, as shown by the amount of views the reunion has got on YouTube (nearly 8 million so far in less than a week):

It has now been confirmed that The Shield will take on Strowman, The Miz and The Bar in a 3-on-4 handicap match in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at the TLC PPV.

The heart of the matter

Reigns proclaimed that he and his Shield buddies Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (who are Tag Champs) will make both Raw and TLC their 'yard' (his catchphrase), starting with Raw in Portland, Oregon tonight. Then they will 'burn down' TLC (Rollins' catchphrase). Reigns also called their faction 'workhorses' (Ambrose' catchphrase).

Either way, I would be scared if I was The Miz or The Bar (maybe not if I was Braun Strowman). The Shield are back and with a vengeance.

What's next?

The Shield will be on Raw on Monday surely to create havoc before their big match on at TLC against Strowman, The Miz and The Bar.

We will see if they are able to get the upper hand heading into the PPV.

I am sure we will also witness a preview to the weapons involved in this Sunday's match used on Raw.

The 4-on-3 handicap bout will main event TLC on Sunday.

Author's take

I am definitely excited for The Shield's first match back together at the forthcoming TLC PPV. The Shield got me interested in WWE and at the moment they are the only thing keeping a lot of people still interested in it too.

Little things on Sunday will matter, like if The Shield use their old entrance that they did together before or just use each of their singles' entrances that they have now (the WWE Universe want to see the old entrance). It would also be cool if the Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns wear their old Shield gear too.

I am sure we will be in for a classic though.

I hope WWE keep The Shield together again for at least a few months. Their reunion is something that can't be both short and sweet in my opinion. I think it is also helping Reigns become popular again, something he hasn't been since The Shield split up three years ago.

Roman's tweet sure shows he is enjoying this reunification too.
