Roman Reigns cleared the rumours about his alleged disagreements with WWE, and the story surrounding him being 'sent home' from a WWE tour last year

What’s the story?

On the inaugural edition of WWE’s Straight To The Source, Corey Graves interviewed Roman Reigns on a myriad of topics.

When asked about being sent home from a WWE tour last year, Roman Reigns revealed that the only reason he departed from the tour was that his wife was due to give birth to their twin children.

In case you didn’t know…

Roman Reigns has been widely regarded as the WWE’s top Superstar, overtaking John Cena as the face of the company over the past couple of years.

However, when the Big Dog was sent home from a WWE tour last year, the professional wrestling community was rife with speculation that Reigns may have potentially irked the WWE higher-ups.

The heart of the matter

Nevertheless, speaking to WWE commentator and on-air personality Corey Graves, Roman Reigns clarified that there was no misunderstanding between him and the WWE management; in fact, that wasn’t the reason he was ‘sent home’ from the tour last year.

Emphasizing the real reason why he headed back home from the tour. Reigns explained that he and his wife were due to have their twin children around the time of the tour, so he was allowed to return to his family while the tour was underway. The Intercontinental Champion added:

"It's funny how people come up with, like, all these conclusions. Like, nobody knew what was going on with me.”
"I'm not like (The) Miz where I announce it on every RAW. 'He's sick!', 'something happened!', 'he got in trouble!', 'oh no, he did it again!' And then, no, like, I went home because I was having babies! We didn't talk about it (in public); that was a year ago."

What’s next?

Roman Reigns is the current Intercontinental Champion and looks set to defend the title on every episode of Monday Night Raw. Barring an act of God, he will defeat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34.
