What's the story?

Roman Reigns announced back in October that he was struggling with leukemia, something that had been a part of his life for more than a decad. This then forced him to step away from the ring to receive treatment but he has since been able to make his return.

In case you didn't know...

Reigns returned and announced that his cancer was in remission just four months after his original revelation, which led many fans to become pessimistic about his entire story. Many fans believed that leukemia was one size fits all and that because Reigns wasn't seen as in the same condition as many other patients, WWE had obviously made up the whole story.

There are many different strands of leukemia; these affect people in many ways depending on how soon they are detected but it could be why Reigns has felt the need to reveal all about his condition in a recent WWE Chronicle episode.

The heart of the matter

Roman Reigns was part of last night's WWE Chronicle episode where he was able to reveal all about his condition and the treatment he has been through over the past few months.

As part of the documentary, Reigns revealed that he found out the news at a WWE live event when he was told that his white blood cell count was elevated.

“I was at a live event, I believe it was either a Saturday or a Sunday, and I just remember one of our doctors telling me that something was going on with my blood tests. But when I got there, I could tell. The whole crew was in there. And they broke the news that my white blood cell count as obviously elevated. We could point fingers in certain directions, but with my history they kinda already knew what was going on," he said via ProWrestlingSheet.

He also revealed that his type of leukemia is CML which is chronic myeloid leukemia, a stand of the illness that affects almost exclusively male adults. It's an incurable disease but it's one that can be treated over time.

Reigns treatment included being able to take a tablet which was like oral chemotherapy, which meant that he didn't have to expose himself to radiation every day and could live his normal day to day life.

What's next?

Reigns makes his in-ring return this Sunday night when he teams with The Shield to take on Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin at Fastlane.

Hopefully, Reigns recent revelation will put an end to the ongoing social media rumors. Have your say in the comments section below...
