WWE News: Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens confirmed for Roadblock

A Clash of the Champions at Roadblock

Rumors circulating in social media in the past few days have indicated WWE’s interest in booking a Champion vs. Champion bout as the main event of the next RAW exclusive pay-per-view. The event named, Roadblock: End of the Line, will be taking place on 18th December 2016 from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Interestingly, the venue has confirmed that the match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens will be taking place at Roadblock. Moreover, it could be contested for the WWE Universal Championship.

The official website also advertises Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, The New Day, Enzo and Big Cass, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and many more members of the Raw roster.as a part of the pay-per-view.

The United States Champion disclosed his thoughts about the team of Chris Jericho and the WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens in the first edition of RAW Talk. Reigns stated that he will be a legitimate threat for the title unlike his S.H.I.E.L.D brother, Seth Rollins.

In fact, the seeds for the upcoming pay-per-view clash may have been planted in the last episode of RAW, when Roman defended his Championship against Jericho. Although the three of them will be teaming up to represent RAW at Survivor Series, it is uncertain as to how the alliance work.

The recent bookings highlight WWE’s willingness to insert Roman Reigns in the main championship picture of the red brand. Roman was ‘pushed down’ the card and had to feud for the United States Championship with Rusev as he had violated the company’s Talent Wellness Policy in June.

Many fans have been sour against the former World Champion, claiming that he was unworthy of the top spot in WWE. There was a feeling that this change in the booking of The Big Dog will help him to win over the WWE audience. If WWE adds Reigns in the Universal Championship picture again in a few months’ time, there remains a possibility that the fans will turn on him again.
