What's the story?

Ronda Rousey successfully marked another title defense at the recently concluded Royal Rumble pay-per-view, as 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet' defeated four-time Raw Women's Champion, Sasha Banks.

Following her win, however, Rousey, who was in conversation with Charly Caruso, dropped a huge Four Horsewomen tease.

In case you didn't know...

Having signed with the WWE almost a year ago and making her initial WWE debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Ronda Rousey won her first championship in the company when she defeated Alexa Bliss at last year's SummerSlam pay-per-view in order to win the Raw Women's Title.

Since then, the former UFC World Champion has gone on to fend off the likes of Nikki Bella and that too in the main event of the historic first-time ever Evolution pay-per-view, Mickie James, and Charlotte Flair at last year's Survivor Series classic match.

The heart of the matter

After her hard-fought win over Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Ronda Rousey was interviewed backstage by Charly Caruso and during the interaction, the Raw Women's Champion claimed that she has respect for Sasha Banks, however, wasn't sure if the feeling on the on Banks' behalf was mutual. Rousey eventually brought up the Four Horsewomen as well and noted that the MMA Four Horsewomen group isn't a gimmick or a marketing ploy, unlike WWE's version of the Four Horsewomen, which consists of Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair.

“As a competitor, I have respect for her. I just think the 4 Horsewomen is the only real point of contention for me, you know? Me and my friends were the 4 Horsewomen before we came to WWE.”

The Raw Women's Champion then stated that the MMA Four Horsewomen is real and personal, whereas, Sasha Banks and co., on the other hand, do not even tend to like each other.

“It wasn’t a gimmick or a marketing ploy because it was a gimmick or it made us more popular because we are aligned. It was like this is real, it’s personal. This is our lives and they’re taking something that’s near and dear to our hearts and just trying to package it and sell it to the masses."
"I mean they don’t even like each other. I don’t know, it’s just something that is so personal and near and dear to me and my friends that if they held the 4’s up in the same regard that we do I would have respect for that, but for them this [4 fingers] is nothing but marketing.”
