WWE News: Ronda Rousey confirmed for WWE event

Ronda Rousey Hosts Media Day Ahead Of The Rousey Vs. Holm Fight
She'll be at the Mae Young Classic finals

What's the story?

Ronda Rousey and WWE have been crossing paths recently and some people have said she'll be coming to WWE for something soon. It might be looking that way because WWE confirmed Rousey will be appearing at an upcoming event.

In case you didn't know...

Ronda Rousey was the first UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship and sold a ton of tickets during her time in MMA. She was also on the 2008 US Olympic team where she won the Bronze medal in judo.

Rowdy Ronda is a long-time fan of WWE and had a nice little angle with Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31. Ronda and WWE seem like the perfect fit and although there have been rumors about the subject nothing has been officially announced as far as Rousey actually competing in a WWE ring.

The heart of the matter

The Mae Young Classic is a big deal and it looks like the red carpet event for the show is going to be a pretty packed show as well. Cathy Kelley will host and Ronda Rousey has been confirmed to appear.

Other appearances for the Mae Young Classic red carpet will be cast members from the Netlix's GLOW, U.S. Olympian soccer star Hope Solo, Charlotte Flair, Stephanie McMahon, the Bella Twins, Bayley, Triple H and other competitors from Mae Young Classic.

What's next?

This kind of appearance from Rousey could present a plausible situation for more advancement in the storyline with WWE's Horsewomen.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is kicking around the idea of having her take part in some kind of a match at Survivor Series with a possible WrestleMania encounter against either Charlotte Flair or Stephanie McMahon.

Author's take

It might only be a matter of time before Ronda Rousey is featured as a part-time WWE Superstar if things progress in this manner. She might come in for a few quick pay days every now and then, but don't expect to start making towns with the rest of the roster. Then again, crazier things have happened before.
