What's the story?

TMZ Sports caught up with Ronda Rousey after her performances at WrestleMania 34 and Monday Night RAW.

Rousey briefly spoke to TMZ, while wading through the airport, asserting that she hasn’t slept in 2 days. Besides, former WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres also weighed in on Rousey’s WWE debut match.

In case you didn’t know…

“Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey wrestled her first official WWE match at WrestleMania 34, this past Sunday night; teaming up with Kurt Angle to defeat Stephanie McMahon & Triple H.

Rousey—who is world-renowned for her work ethic, obsession with long-workouts & skill-training—is said to have rigorously trained for her WWE debut in the lead-up to WrestleMania 34.

The heart of the matter

Ronda Rousey followed up her aforementioned WrestleMania victory, by attacking Stephanie McMahon on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW—yet another segment that saw Rousey enthrall the WWE Universe with her grappling prowess.

Rousey was then spotted at the airport, making her way back home after WrestleMania 34 and RAW, which is where TMZ spoke to her regarding her much-talked-about performances.

Rousey explained that she hasn’t slept in 2 days, except a 2-hour nap in the plane. “Rowdy” jested that, as of this moment, she doesn’t even know what her last name is—adding that she's just looking forward to getting back home to her kids.

Additionally, Rousey expressed her gratitude at being told that the fans are heralding her WrestleMania debut as one of the best of all time. Regarding her dream opponent, Rousey stated that she doesn’t know who that is yet.

Furthermore, former 3-time Divas Champion Eve Torres also spoke to TMZ; praising the Rowdy One—

"I wasn't surprised at all, no. I knew she was going to do well but I think the harder thing to determine is how the fans are going to take somebody…Even though Ronda completely deserves all the respect from these fans and fans around the world, you just never know with wrestling fans when someone comes from a non-pro wrestling background. So that was the best part, watching all the fans get behind her—it was a legendary performance."

What’s next?

The vast majority of professional wrestling experts believe that Ronda Rousey is set to continue her feud against “The Authority”, Stephanie McMahon in particular, in the weeks to come on RAW.

Meanwhile, Eve Torres—who’s married to Rener Gracie of the famed BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) family “The Gracies”—presently trains in BJJ and continues to hone her grappling skills.

Author’s take

Truth be told—Ronda Rousey seems to have an intensity which seems ingrained & instinctive—something that you can’t really teach or forcefully imbibe in a prodigy of any profession.

Couple her unadulterated intensity with the passion she has for the pro-wrestling business, and one has a winning combination.

WWE just got a lot more rowdy, and she’s just getting started in what seems to be a long journey with the promotion.
