What’s the story?
The WWE has sent out a video by way of its official Twitter account; wherein Rusev & Lana seem to be impersonating Elias & Bayley.
Ahead of their MMC Match, Rusev & Lana put forth a parody-musical performance; hyping up their upcoming showdown.
In case you didn’t know…
The WWE announced a unique tournament in partnership with Facebook, which can be streamed on Facebook Watch, and has 16 teams—each team comprising one male & female Superstar respectively—competing against one another.
The MMC (Mixed Match Challenge) tournament is yet to see a couple of its first-round matches take place—with Rusev & Lana vs. Elias & Bayley taking place this week.
The heart of the matter
In the hilarious video sent out by the WWE, Rusev can be seen strumming a guitar much like Elias, when Lana who’s dressed as Bayley, comes in and hugs Rusev.
Following which, Rusev takes a shot at Elias, and mimics the latter’s aloofness; asserting that he’s too cool for school. Lana then goes on about how she’s Bayley, and just like ‘The Huggable One’ she wants to hug everyone.
Furthermore, drawing on the catchphrase, ‘who wants to walk with Elias’, Rusev states—“Who wants to run, with Elias?” Rusev then proceeds to sing—“Lana is the best…Lana number-1.”
To which Lana sings her line—“And you will see that on…Rusev Day!!!”
What’s next?
Rusev & Lana compete against Elias & Bayley this week. The winner of the MMC Match faces the winner of the final Round 1 Match that has Apollo Crews & Nia Jax compete against Bobby Roode & Charlotte Flair.

Honestly speaking, the WWE’s MMC tournament is indeed serving to bring back Mixed Gender Tag Team Wrestling into the spotlight once again.
Besides, irrespective of whether one may be a loyal fan of the Hugger, one has to admit that Lana’s impersonation of her was spot-on.
