WWE News: Rusev reads to children on Rusev Day

What's the story?

WWE Superstar Rusev recently took to social media to reveal what exactly he was upto on Rusev Day, and it was heartwarming. Recently, the Bulgarian Superstar made an appearance at a school and read out the '3 little pigs' story to the children.

In case you didn’t know…

When Rusev made his debut on the main roster, he was presented as a typical foreign heel who cut scathing promos about America and its people. With Lana by his side, Rusev quickly became one of the top heels in the company. In spite of his cliched gimmick, Rusev soon gained recognition for his well-rounded set of skills and comedic timing.

Fast forward to the present, Rusev is now one of the most beloved babyfaces on the SmackDown Live roster. After splitting him up from Lana, WWE paired him with Aiden English. English's musical renditions of 'Rusev Day' have become quite popular with the fans of late, with "Rusev Day" chants echoing around every WWE arena.

The heart of the matter

As can be seen from his sporadic appearances on Total Divas and Xavier Woods' UpUpDownDown channel on YouTube, Rusev is a funny and laid-back person in real life.

His latest tweet shows the sort of person Rusev is, as he is seen reading stories to children at a school.

What's next?

Strangely, Rusev was left off of TV this past week on SmackDown and has not been booked for any match at WWE Fastlane as of this writing.

But, judging from his soaring popularity, WWE is sure to have big things in store for the Bulgarian Brute heading towards WrestleMania. As of now, he is set to take on the team of Bobby Roode and Charlotte in the second round of the Mixed Match Challenge, alongside his wife Lana.

Rusev and Aiden English have done an amazing job of getting themselves over with the fans. We just have to wait and watch what WWE has in store for them going ahead.
