Rusev warns Randy Orton in chilling message

What’s the story?

Rusev has taken to social media in order to call out Randy Orton prior to their showdown at SmackDown’s Hell In A Cell PPV.

Hyping up their HIAC matchup, Rusev ranted that he is indeed going to break Orton come fight-night and then proceed to celebrate ‘Rusev Day’.

In case you didn’t know…

Rusev and Randy Orton have been involved in one of the blue brand’s top feuds for quite some time now, going back and forth against one another in the lead-up to Hell In A Cell.

It was on a recent episode of SmackDown Live that the Bulgarian Brute celebrated Rusev Day — a new part of his gimmick that’s been considerably well-received by both fans and pundits in the professional wrestling community.

The heart of the matter:

Rusev cut, what’s being heralded by many as a fantastic promo, wherein he issued a rather chilling message to his foe, Randy Orton:

"Randy Orton, tomorrow, Sunday night, Hell In A Cell October 8 in Detroit, Michigan I'm going to break you! And then, will celebrate Rusev Day."

If one is to believe the professional wrestling rumour mill, Rusev, who was set to receive a huge push from management which was expected to culminate in him having a run with WWE Championship, was ultimately relegated to a smaller role after the powers-that-be decided to put the belt on Jinder Mahal.

Nevertheless, the Bulgarian Brute is now being accorded yet another major push which fans can expect to begin tonight against Orton; irrespective of whether Rusev wins or loses the match; with WWE planning to either make him look great in victory or valiant in defeat.

What’s next?

Rusev competes against Randy Orton at the upcoming SmackDown brand-exclusive pay-per-view which goes down at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on October 8th.

Author’s take

Rusev is a bona fide star and should the WWE capitalize on his popularity among the hardcore pro-wrestling fan-base, they have a promotional goldmine on their hands.

Besides, with a performer like Rusev who’s as good on the mic — as evidenced by his aforementioned promo — as he is in the ring, how can you not be pumped for Rusev Day?
