After receiving major backstage heat for announcing their engagement on social media, Rusev and Lana are apparently back in the good graces of the WWE it would seem. Well, at least Rusev has been booked the part of late.
Ever since he captured the US Title at Extreme Rules, Rusev has looked nothing short of the monster heel that he should always have been, successfully defending his title against the likes of Titus O’Neil and even Cesaro.
And it has been announced that his next opponent would be Zack Ryder on the 11 July 2016 episode of Monday Night Raw, reports Wrestlinginc.com.
It remains to be seen how Ryder fares, as he has been booked as somewhat of a legitimate threat ever since capturing the Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania 32.
Incidentally, Ryder is also all set to debut a new theme on SmackDown this week, with the Superstar taking to social media to tweet about it.
