What's the story?
At the Greatest Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar retained the Universal Championship in controversial fashion following a cage match with Roman Reigns. Samoa Joe, who is slated to face Reigns at Backlash, cut a super scary promo after the match.
The resident submission specialist of WWE went on social media and let the world know exactly what he thought of Roman Reigns following his defeat. Nobody brings the kind of realism that Joe does during his promos, right?
In case you didn't know...
Brock Lesnar comprehensively defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. However, when they met at the Greatest Royal Rumble, inside a steel cage Lesnar's victory was marred with controversy following the inconclusive finish.
Joe and Reigns have been at odds for a while. While the two men are on two separate brands, they will collide at Backlash for pride and glory.
The heart of the matter
Samoa Joe did not mince his words when he addressed Roman Reigns:
Oh Roman. Got to admit. For a brief second, you made me believe. In fact, I'm pretty sure you made the world believe that you were going to defy the odds and finally deliver on your promise. And worse than that, I thought you were going to bring me the Universal Championship at Backlash. Once again you failed. Once again you broke your promise.
